Welcome

Hi and welcome to my blog. You may have arrived here from www.eikonphoto.com or from www.eikonphotographer.com or from www.dcphotographerwashington.com all of which are Eikon Photography websites. This blog is designed to serve several purposes, some more serious than others. Below you'll see examples from recent shoots and events, but also links to useful articles about everything from weddings to how to prevent alien abductions (okay not so much on the alien abductions). And then there is the random stuff ..... from the best scone recipe ever, to great exhibits and musings about the progress of my golf game. Basically it's mostly photographic but be prepared for anything.

That's me, Karen Sayre over there on the right. I'll keep my musings as interesting as possible ... while still attempting to find time for chocolate, wine, cooking and the love of my life... in no particular order.

Shoot me an email! I'd love to hear from you. And again, thanks so much for being here! Hope to see you again soon!

Day 4 without phones ……. are you kidding? I wish!

Well if you’ve been trying to reach me unsuccessfully, here’s why. I wrote a long ranting post about this and it was very cathartic to write, but not suitable to read, so here we are ….. in the words of Forest Gump ‘That’s all I have to say about that!!!’
I can be reached by email, so please contact me that way.

An intimate wedding on the Mall? …… Oh yes.

One of DC’s best kept secrets for wedding ceremonies is the WW1 (aka DC war memorial). Wonderful for smaller events and perfect for a casual DC afternoon event, it’s got everything but the tourists!
Peter and Michael had a lovely, intimate ceremony with family. We spent some fun time taking pictures and then off to party.

A Virginia wedding at the yummy 2941 restaurant. Falls Church VA

Karen did a fabulous job as our photographer on our wedding day. We used her in 2006 for my brother and sister-in-law’s wedding and we just loved her work and her style of photography that we decided to use her for our wedding without a doubt. She’s extremely knowledgeable, unobtrusive, and just a delight to work with. Karen ran the show effortlessly and knew exactly which shots to capture. She was always available when we had questions or concerns.

If you are looking for a photographer who is on point and captures amazing candid shots as well as formal photos she’s the artist to hire. She was just so much fun and a delight to work with. She really help Tim and I feel at ease even while being intimate in front of a camera.
